Lab Intelligence

A modular, modern LIS that grows with you

AI Laboratory Intelligence

Next-Generation LIS

The medicalvalues Lab Intelligence is a modular, modern Laboratory Information System built from the ground up with applied AI — at a time when most LIS platforms are technically outdated and unable to support real automation. Its centrepiece is an AI-powered reporting cockpit that generates clinical report texts, automates validation, and turns raw results into meaningful output faster than any manual process. For labs under growing resource pressure, it is infrastructure that finally keeps up.

the solution

From first sample to final report - every step, one system

Pre-Analytics & Sample Collection

Fewer mix-ups. Faster draws.
  • Nurses get a sorted worklist with step-by-step guidance
  • Prelabeled tubes and integrated scanning eliminate manual handling and errors

Sample Registration

Zero friction at intake.
  • Every incoming sample registered, linked, and print-ready in seconds.

Workflow & Task Management

The right task, to the right person, at the right time.
  • Configurable worklists per role and department in real-time.

Track & Trace

Always know where your samples are.
  • Location tracking inside the lab and out
  • Documention of transport conditions

Validation & Reporting Cockpit

Validated results and physician reports in minutes, not hours.
  • AI-assisted validation
  • LLM-generated reports.

Billing

Complex billing, handled automatically.
  • EBM, GOÄ, UV-GOÄ, DKG-NT and more
  • KBV-certified.
  • Errors caught at order entry, not after the fact

Physician & Customer Portal

Give referring physicians a reason to stay loyal.
  • Branded portal for consumable ordering
  • sample tracking
  • pre-analytic training
  • lab communication

Specialist Modules

In development

Microbiology

An intelligent order entry module with diagnosis-guided test selection, filtering material and investigation lists by suspected pathogen or clinical indication.
Results are displayed as individual findings or cumulative views — filterable by material and organism, with AI-generated alerts for notifiable pathogens and automatic integration of routine parameters such as CRP alongside microbiological results.

In development

Immunohaematology

AI-assisted interpretation of antibody findings, blood group validation, and automatic detection of inconsistencies such as deviating serologies or patient record duplicates.
Includes automated antibody screen interpretation, differential diagnosis support, warnings for rare antibodies such as Anti-K or Anti-D, and compatible red cell unit recommendations for complex antibody constellations. Alloimmunisation prevention alerts are included for high-risk patient groups.

In planning

Blood reserve management

End-to-end blood product management covering inventory control, ordering, compatibility checks, and bedside transfusion documentation.
The intelligent demand forecasting accounts for varying consumption, limited shelf life, and reserve stock needs. Full traceability via Eurocode and ISBT 128 standards, look-back procedures, and a real-time blood depot dashboard with stock levels, upcoming deliveries, and consumption trends.

Perspectives beyond the LIS

The medicalvalues Lab Intelligence is just one component of the medicalvalues Platform. It can be optimally combined with the applications of the Data Management and Harmonisazion modules as well as the Order Intelligence.

Starting from the LIS, the medicalvalues applications can be used to create a central orchestration hub for orders, results, and master data. Thanks to the modular structure it is easy to connect channels such as order entry, portals, POCT, ePA/KIM, reporting apps, manual capture, and telephone-based workflows.

ChatGPT Health and Claude for Healthcare in the Context of Laboratory Medicine

AI language models such as ChatGPT Health or Claude for Healthcare are no longer merely a technical phenomenon — they have long since become part of everyday life. Whether someone enters their lab report into a chat window in the evening to look for an explanation, or a hospital integrates AI-supported documentation into its workflow systems, the reality of use is more diverse than public debate often reflects.
